To all Parents, Coaches, Team Reps, Family Members and Spectators –

Over the past few days, the Board of Directors have been made aware of some concerns relating to recent incidents during home and away USA Hockey games.

While attending games at home or away, you are a direct reflection of our organization. Our conduct while attending a USA Hockey sponsored event is governed by USA Hockey's Zero Tolerance policy and the USA Hockey Parent / Participant Code of Conduct.  Administrator’s, officials and rink personal are directed by USA Hockey that there is to be NO warnings for any violations of these rules. You will simply be asked to leave the arena.

All Salmon River parents and players have signed the Parent Code of Conduct and the Participant Code of Conduct while registering your child.  Please make your family members and friends aware of these rules as well.

Salmon River Ice Hockey is dedicated to enforcing the USA Hockey Code Conduct and the Zero Tolerance Policy:

  • I will conduct myself in a befitting manner at all facilities (ice rink, hotel, restaurant, etc.) during all team functions;  SRIHA is in constant communication with other Associations, so please note we are notified when parents are not conducting themselves as adults at other rinks.
  • Do not embarrass your child by yelling at players, coaches or officials. By showing a positive attitude toward the game and all of its participants, your child will benefit;  SRIHA will not tolerate this from any player, parent or spectator.
  • No lashing out at any official no matter what the call is. The coaching staff will handle all matters pertaining to officiating;  SRIHA - For officials, please use patience and recognize that they cannot see every play of the game.  Do not address or make contact with an official during or after a game.  This will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave and not return.
  • Recognize the importance of volunteer coaches. They are important to the development of your child and the sport. Communicate with them and support them.
